Prompt Response: Over winter break I did two things, hang out with family and do things with friends. For Christmas I was with my dad's parents in north Georgia and for New Years I was with my uncle's family in Mississippi.

The first goal I am striving to achieve is getting my driver's license. This goal is important to me as getting it will give me much more freedom and ability to more easily do things like get a job and get to places.To achieve it, I will need to meet certain parameters. Thankfully, I have already finished the sitting-down Driver's Ed portion, which makes it easier. I need to get more practice in though as a whole, which I will achieve by doing driving with my parents on the weekends. Ideally by October or November 2026, I will take the road test and get my license.


I would also like to get a job within the year. This goal is very important to me as a lack of financial freedom is oftentimes very frustrating, and I also believe that getting a job is good for my character and life. In order to do this, I will have to figure out what kind of job I want. After that, I will have to apply to places nearby fulfilling these standards. Ideally, I will eventually get hired and be able to start working. My time target for this goal is within 2026.


I would like to score 1400+ on the SAT. This is something that I care about as it will affect my chances of getting where I want after high school. I will need to start studying consistently for it, I will use Wednesday nights to focus on it. I will also take mock sat tests online every month in order to see where I am and what I need to work on.


I would like to get better at basketball. While this one isn't as definable as the other ones it still has a clear idea in my head. I just hope that by the end of this year I feel competent in basketball with my friends. I think the main thing for this is just to keep playing consistently with my friends and working on different skills in order to improve my overall ability. Sometimes I will try certain drills to improve certain sections of ability.

Summary: We did an assignment regarding goals during this year.

Reflection: This assignment allowed me to think about goals this year more deeply and the logistics of completing them.

Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

  Prompt Response:  Something that I can't stop thinking about as of late is basketball. I have always mildly enjoyed the sport and things about it but these past couple weeks it is something that I have been extremely interested in and invested in regarding the players and history and stats. It is something that I think about a lot and want to learn more about constantly and be engaged with the games going on.
