How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Prompt Response:  It has showed me more perspectives, and whether I agree or disagree with said perspectives it ultimately helps me understand everything about it in an effective manner. Yet while the sources have different positions and purposes, they all build to the greater effect of what I am looking for. Summary:  I finished up my annotated bibliography  Reflection:  The last few sources I did were some of the longer ones and needed further inspection in order to summarize them.

Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Prompt Response: The most challenging part for me was ascertaining the qualifications of the authors/publication. Determining the level of understanding the publication or author has is difficult because it is not immediately apparent in the text and requires further research beyond the source. Summary: We started our annotated bibliography for our sources.  Reflection:  Making the annotated bibliography gave me a deeper look at my sources and the context behind them.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Prompt Response:  Finding more sources gives more unique perspectives on the topic. Even those on the same "side" of the argument have varied and nuanced takes on it that differ heavily. Going through all of these educated me about the many different point of views and gave a deeper understanding of those impacted and observing it. Summary: We continued to find sources for our topic. Reflection:  Having already started looking for sources, this was easier as I had a ground to go off of, and citing things isn't difficult

Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Prompt Response:  Using GALILEO is much easier than other ways to find sources for a project. It gives you exactly the type of source you are looking for, and has such a massive database of reliable sources for anything. Using specific search terms relating to your topic makes it much easier to find exactly what you need. Summary:  We began searching for sources regarding our topic Reflection:  Finding sources for the topic has proven harder than expected, but nevertheless it allows me to look into many new and different resources

What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Prompt Response:  The cartoon suggests that Trump is using the outside conflict of Iran to distract American citizens from domestic abuses from ICE and new bills. It suggests that Trump doing this is harmful to Americans and is an attempt to blindside people, and that people need to remember to focus on the domestic issues that are directly affecting them. Summary: We analyzed documents relative to the current USPS situation. Reflection:  Analyzing the documents showed how to research better and more relevant to our topic.

How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Prompt Response:  Searching a specific phrase will give you more results that are fit for what you are trying to find. Just googling a topic gives you far too many results and things to look through, and more things that might not be relevant to your necessities. This strategy improves the quality of your research greatly as you'll find what you need to find. Summary: We did a commonlit in class today. Reflection:  The CommonLit covered a somewhat interesting topic of he American Dream relevant to movies and how it impacted our culture.

Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt Response:  My topic was Free Speech v. Cancel Culture. It is difficult to solve because while the two sides are pretty distinct there is deep arguments either way. You can either argue that someone's past actions/words can justify them being ostracized today, but on the other hand it can be said that these past things become invalidated and exist solely in their context and not in the society today. It's important to previously understand these viewpoints so when you take a position you can better argue for yourself Summary: We talked about how to do research for our project. Reflection:  Doing a little bit of research on our topics was illuminating to what to expect from the rest of the project.

What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Prompt Response:  In the past, working on projects independently can lead to lack of motivation for me and make it harder to work on. But at the same time working on a project as a group can be problematic as not everyone is on the same track and may not be as willing to work together. I hope that during this project we will all be able to work on it on the same track and be efficient about it. Summary: We formed our group and talked about our projects Reflection: Being able to see the future of this project and how we are going to work on it gives me more ability to figure out how to approach it

If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

Prompt Response:   I would travel around the world with my friends probably. There are many places I have always been interesting in going to, like much of Eastern Europe, and Asia. Being able to go to those places and experience these great things would be lovely for me. Summary: We had a CommonLit to do Reflection:  I can't even lie I haven't done the CommonLit so I don't really have anything to reflect on

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Prompt Response: Chris McCandless's desire for independence was integral to his downfall as he tried to remain completely self reliant to the very end, despite many warnings and signs of what was to come. While his actual death was sudden, I am sure someone on the outside could've seen how things were going to work out, and his unwillingness to give up on it and find help ultimately was his end. Summary: We read the rest of the book and finished the movie in class Reflection:  Understanding his final days, and figuring out how he died was very illuminating to his entire story, and gave much clarity needed early on.
