What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

Prompt Response:  I would describe my mind to be a constant factory. It is always moving in consistency and pattern and habit and it keeps me functioning throughout the day. It sometimes slows down and needs rest and breaks in order to work correctly and sometimes it is more productive than usual. Summary: I wasn't in class on block day. Reflection:  

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt Response:  An adventure that I would like to go on would be to visit the country of China. It is somewhere that I find to be uniquely beautiful in culture, art, and just as a country. There is nowhere else that inspires me and has the same allure. To go there one day is a dream to me and I hope to be able to do it eventually. Summary: We went over American literature content beyond the native Americans and reviewed a poem. Reflection: Reviewing the poem was very interesting and enlightening in regards to thinking g about life. 

Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt Response: Something I will always struggle with understanding is why people do many of the things they do. So many things I see people do and things I see happening are nonsensical and I really struggle figuring out how something got to that point. I think people should be more logical and thoughtful sometimes in order to better ourselves and society.     Summary: We presented our origin myths in class today Reflection: It got me to think about the origin myths and the many different ways they can be presented more deeply.

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

Prompt Response:  I wish I had more motivation within myself. When I work on something I don't really struggle but it is getting the desire to do things and get to the point where I am actually working on it. Whether it is work or hobbies I just have a lot of struggle getting excited to do it/desire to do it at all.  Having more motivation would allow me to not waste as much as I do waiting around hesitating/procrastinating. Summary: Today in class we worked on our posters and myths. We also went over some prompt responses Reflection: Going over prompt responses made think more deeply about the prompts and let me think more deeply about them 

What is the most creative thing you have ever made?

Prompt Response:  Back in 7th grade I had to make a story for an assignment. It took a lot of thinking as I had to create a scenario with characters and dialogue and it was a lengthy project. I had to really think for it as I wanted it to stick out and be unique, even though it was just a 7th grade project. Summary: We worked on the origin myth and started our poster. Reflection:  I finished my origin myth and started planning my poster.

Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

Prompt Response:  Life is very full of questions, and things are very hard to figure out. One thing I often ponder is I am incredibly unsure on what to do after school, whether that be future schooling or employment in my life. I go through a million options in my head constantly in both areas. It is quite stressful and will matter so much in my future. I also just, wonder often on what I would like to do in my life, outside of schooling and employment. I still feel like I have yet to really discover myself and figure out what my niche is. Summary: We worked on our origin myth. Reflection:    I created a myth about the creation of the world.

Describe a time you felt completely lost.

Prompt Response:  One time where I felt completely lost was when I was studying for my geometry final in 9th grade. Geometry was a class I had struggled with a lot throughout the year and I was entirely unprepared. Looking at the study guide in the days leading up to the exam was a highly stressful experience as I didn't even know where to start and what to do. Summary: Today in class we presented our The Jealous Father presentations. Reflection:  I learnt about different aspects of The Jealous Father origin myths.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

Prompt Response:  Getting back into the school schedule has been difficult, whether it be relevant to time management or getting back into the mood of doing 7 hours a day of school and homework and what not. I am not necessarily worried about time management too much, in regards to homework, as I will have plenty of time to do it. The issue is moreover getting myself to sit down and do it. Trying to motivate and get myself to do work in a timely manner isn't easy and I will need to adjust to it in this coming school year. Summary: In class today we took a quiz about a new origin myth about the origin of the Robin. Reflection: The quiz we took gave me new insights and things to think about in regards to origin myths that I hadn't really considered before.

Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

Prompt Response:  My friend, who I will refer to as "TM", we were really into a game. Within that game me and him were competing within the ranked game mode. After a while I got pretty far ahead of him and for a while it felt like he was being distant. I decided to talk to him about it and he said that he didn't intend to but admitted to feeling somewhat insecure and jealous, even though it was a silly game. Nevertheless we resolved it. Summary: During class we went over a native American tale and reviewed it and started working on a project regarding it. Reflection:  My group and I started our project and got pretty far within it.

Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

  Prompt Response: One of my good friend's parents had a yearbook picture of his framed, and gave them out to family friends such as myself. Now as that friend has graduated, seeing that picture brings me much joy and brings me back to a time. It reminds me of a time where we would hang out constantly and laugh about how our family has that picture in the first place. It truly brings me back to a place with nostalgic.   Summary: We went over a origin myth in Navajo culture and reviewed it for it's meaning and context. Reflection:  It was highly insightful on the beliefs and culture of the people and gave me a new understanding of what a myth.

Write about a time you felt connected to nature

Prompt Response: One time I felt connected to nature was when I went camping during a summer camp for a few days. I felt connected to nature as we were deep in the forrests and relied on more rudimentary systems for food and the likes rather than the modern conveniences we are used to. It was very fun and allowed me to better take in the world around me for its beauty and uniqueness. Summary: We learnt about early native American writing traditions and customs, such as their methods and themes that were used at the time and some of the contexts behind them and their existence in our day. Reflection: I personally learnt more about the common themes and methods used to maintain their existence, i.e the oral retention and spread through generations.
